Hair care is pretty easy |

What I've found when it comes to hair care, over the years, is that maintaining healthy looking hair is easy. I'm a pretty simple kind of gal, I don't need to go to expensive restaurants on dates, I don't wear expensive clothes, or have expensive jewelry, or even an expensive car. I'm just down to earth, your girl next door. When it comes to my hair, I pretty much keep it simple. Growing up, my mom made me cut my hair short when I was 7, saying I never did anything with it. Honestly, I don't know of any 7 year olds that style their hair. But never the less, it was cut short, and it stayed that way for close to 9 years. I finally got tired of it being short and was at an age when I needed to take control over the length of my hair. So in '87 I started letting it grow.
Aside from a couple perms around that time, I didn't do a whole lot with my hair, which meant, it looked great. My hair care was simple, I didn't blow dry it, I didn't use hot rollers or curling irons on it regularly. So I didn't damage my hair, which is important when it comes to hair care. Back in those days, my hair was pin straight. Even after I started coloring my hair when I was 23, I still kept it pretty simple and was able to maintain good hair care. Sure I've had split ends but that was mostly in the days when I wore my hair down to my waist and would get it cut once a year.
Now that my hair has a loose curl to it, it's a little trickier maintaining hair care. I still keep my general hair care simple, I don't over process it, nor do I abuse it any other way. I do have a straightener that I bought a couple years ago that I've use a couple times. I figured it would be nice to have for those times that I want super straight hair. It's a wet/dry one, which people have warned me that it's not good for your hair care and can damage it. I ease their minds by telling them about the hair care products I use, particularly a product that I spray in before I use any heat based tool. It's to protect my hair from heat damage. The fact that I bought it shortly after I bought the straightener and still have a nearly full bottle, tells you how often I use a heat set tool on my hair.
