hair care, skin care productsI have my step-granddaughter Alisha living at home with me. She is almost eleven years old and because she is pubescent already she is taking an interest in things like skin care products, hair care, fragrance perfumes and grooming in general. I must confess I love passing on what I know about skin care products and hair care to her. The expression of awe that she gets on her face when I talk to her about these things reminds me very much of the way I was about grooming at her age. I think it’s sweet that she wants to watch me do my hair, use fragrance perfume and apply my makeup. What’s more I am only too happy to answer her questions about hair care and show her how to achieve certain looks. I actually did her hair for her the other night before we went out to eat at a decent restaurant and I could tell she felt more confident as we left the house, which I thought was really cute. Passing hair care and grooming tips from one generation of women to the next is one of those things that happen across many cultures. I feel privileged that I am the one passing down this information to my granddaughter.
